Amended Draft Development Plan Irrewillipe Rd/Aireys St Elliminyt

Council has prepared and placed on public exhibition a revised Development Plan under the Colac Otway Planning scheme that would direct the way in which properties within the area bounded by Irrewillipe Road, Main Street, Aireys Street and Hart Street, Elliminyt can be subdivided and developed.

A Development Plan was approved by Council in 2014 to ensure that land is developed in a way that best integrates with adjoining properties and facilitates appropriate access for vehicles and pedestrians. Council has reviewed that plan in consultation with directly affected land owners following a lack of development over the last eight years, and feedback that the plan was overly restrictive and discouraging land redevelopment. The amended plan still seeks to achieve integrated future development, but is more pragmatic and flexible in the way that this can occur.  Aspirations of land owners have been taken into account when considering changes to the plan.

Please follow the link on this page to view the amended draft plan (the area impacted is coloured pink/orange on the plan). Owner or occupiers of land that is directly affected by the plan, or owner/occupiers nearby to the area are invited to provide feedback to Council.

Submissions should be received by Council no later than Thursday 22 December 2022. 

Following conclusion of the exhibition period, Council will refer any submissions received to a Council Submissions Hearing prior to making a formal determination on the plan.  If required, that hearing will be conducted early in 2023. Submitters should indicate if they wish to be heard in relation to their submission.
