Colac Otway Shire Council’s Youth Engagement Team is offering a range of free school holiday activities for young people aged 12 to 25 who live, study or work in Colac Otway.

The program includes creative, active and skills-based sessions designed to help young people connect, learn something new and have fun during the holidays.

Council’s Youth Engagement Project Officer, Chelsea Sharp, said the program was about giving young people opportunities to try new things in a welcoming environment.

“We are really excited to offer a mix of activities these school holidays that encourage young people to get involved, build confidence and connect with others in the community,” she said.

“Whether it is learning a new skill, getting creative or just having fun, there is something for everyone.”

Activities include:

  • Youth Boot Scooting Class, Monday 29 June.
  • Youth Farming Futures Workshop, Tuesday 30 June, delivered in collaboration with the Farm My School Colac team.
  • Stitch It Red Workshop, Friday 3 July.
  • Youth Improv Workshop with OCR FM, Monday 6 July.
  • Paint It Red Workshop, Tuesday 7 July.
  • Stencil It Red Workshop, Wednesday 8 July.
  • Play It Red Workshop, Friday 10 July.

The Stitch It Red, Paint It Red, Stencil It Red and Play It Red workshops are being delivered in collaboration with Colac Makers’ Space as part of the Seeing Red community art project.

The activities are free, but places are limited and bookings are required.

Young people can explore new interests, build skills and meet others in a welcoming and supportive environment.
