Farm Drought Support Grants

The Victorian Government is continuing to provide a $146.5 million Drought Support Package for farmers and communities across Victoria that have been impacted by drought.

It includes programs for farmers, farming families and rural communities, across the state, with several specifically for farmers in the south west, on top of a range of support services that are always available to farmers. 

Colac Otway Shire farmers can apply for up to $10,000 (ex-GST) for Farm Drought Support Grants.

Other supports available through the Drought Support Package include:

• free technical-decision making advice
• fee and duty relief
• On-Farm Kangaroo Management Rebate (up to $450 ex-GST)
• the Look Over the Farm Gate mental health and wellbeing program

There is separate assistance for those recovering from bushfires.

RFCS Victoria West provides free, confidential and independent financial counselling for eligible farmers and small business owners across western Victoria, including Colac Otway Shire.
