Emergencies like bushfires, floods, storms and heatwaves can have serious impacts on our community. Colac Otway Shire plays a key role in helping residents stay safe and supported before, during and after these events.

We work closely with emergency services and partner agencies to:

  • Prepare through planning, hazard reduction and community education
  • Respond by coordinating relief centres and supporting emergency operations
  • Recover with clean-up efforts, infrastructure repairs and community programs
