Children and families in Birregurra can look forward to an exciting new playspace, with upgrade works at Birregurra Park set to commence on Tuesday 20 May 2025.

The revitalised playspace will feature a wide range of engaging and inclusive equipment designed to cater to children of all ages and abilities. Highlights include:

  • Junior and senior play towers with slides
  • Junior and toddler swings
  • A nest swing and carousel
  • A climbing rope maze and spinner
  • Rockers, including an accessible rocker
  • A nature play area with stepping logs, balance beam, balance bridge, and a teepee with seating

To ensure accessibility for all, the project includes rubber surfacing throughout the play area, as well as rubber pads at the base of slides for added safety.

Birregurra Park is the town’s primary open space and a much-loved destination for local families. The upgrade is the result of close collaboration between Council and the local community, ensuring the new play equipment reflects the needs and aspirations of residents.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of June 2025, just in time for families to enjoy the new facilities over the winter school holidays.
