Community Feedback Wanted on Bike Park Design Concepts
Published on 06 June 2025
Colac Otway Shire Council invites the community to have their say on the future of a proposed bike park at a Drop-In Session on Saturday 14 June 2025.
The need for a dedicated bike park in the township has been clearly identified by our community, and in response, Council has engaged leading bike facility designers The Trail Collective to undertake consultation, identify a suitable site, and develop concept designs.
A pre-design consultation was held earlier this year, and based on community feedback, draft design concepts have now been developed. The upcoming drop-in session is a chance for residents to view these designs, share their thoughts, and help refine the designs for the future construction of a bike park.
General Manager Community and Economy, Mr Ian Seuren, said “This is a fantastic opportunity for the community to help shape a facility that will support active lifestyles and youth engagement.”
Following this round of consultation, final designs and detailed cost estimates will be prepared to support future funding applications for the construction of the bike park.
The community Drop-In Session will be held on Saturday 14 June 2025 from 1.30pm – 3.30pm at the Elliminyt Recreation Reserve playground (Pirate Park) shelter.
An online community survey will be made available for public feedback from Monday 16 June until Monday 7 July 2025.
