At the May Council Meeting, a resolution was passed to extend the tenure of Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Andrew Tenni, confirming his appointment as Interim CEO until a new CEO is formally appointed and commences in the role.

Mr Tenni has been serving as Acting CEO following the resignation of former CEO Anne Howard, who will join Darebin City Council as CEO in July.

Mayor Jason Schram said Mr Tenni’s leadership during this transitional period has been instrumental in maintaining continuity and stability within the organisation.

“Extending Mr Tenni in the role means business as usual for councillors and staff”, Cr Jason Schram said.

The recruitment process for a permanent CEO is currently underway.

Cr Schram said there was a great response to the recruitment expression of interest from many of the leading recruiters in the field.

“Council is confident that we will recruit the best candidate for Council and the community to the permanent Chief Executive Officer role.

“It’s great that there have been no hold-ups in this process, and we’ll be able to hit the market without delay”.

”During the recruitment process, Mr Tenni’s experience and steady guidance will continue to support the organisation and community efficiently,” Cr Schram said.
