Colac Otway Shire Council Youth Art Competition Showcases Local Talent

The Colac Otway Shire Council is thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of its Youth Art Competition, with an inspiring 50 entries submitted by young people who live, study, or work in the region.

This year’s competition has revealed an extraordinary depth of talent and creativity, with a diverse array of artworks spanning sculpture, photography, digital art, painting, and drawing. Of the 70 artworks on display, 50 are eligible for judging in the official competition, making this exhibition a vibrant showcase of artistic expression.

A distinguished judging panel had the exciting task of selecting winners on Friday 23 May. The panel included Colac Otway Shire Councillor Cr Mick McCrickard, renowned Colac-based artists Pete Cromer and Gavan Serle, and Victoria Police representative Steph Ward.

The community is invited to get involved through the People’s Choice Award. Votes can be cast online via the Council’s website and Facebook page, or in person at the exhibition.

The award ceremony will be held on Friday 20 June 2025 and the exhibition is on display at the Colac Otway Performing Arts and Cultural Centre (COPACC) foyer gallery until Sunday 22 June 2025.
