Families in Birregurra have a new reason to smile with the opening of the town’s expanded playspace, offering everything from play towers to a maze and nature play.

Colac Otway Shire Council’s newest playground is ready for kids to enjoy during the school holidays, following the $275,000 project at Birregurra Park.

The project involved refurbishing existing equipment and expanding the playspace with new attractions. Council worked closely with the community to design the new playspace and choose its new features.

The revitalised playspace features a wide range of engaging and inclusive equipment designed to cater to children of all ages and abilities. Highlights include:

•           Junior and senior play towers with slides

•           Junior and toddler swings

•           A nest swing and carousel

•           A climbing rope maze and spinner

•           Rockers, including an accessible rocker

•           A nature play area with stepping logs, balance beam, balance bridge, and a teepee with seating.

Rubber surfacing throughout the play area as well as rubber pads at the base of slides ensure the playspace remains safe and comfortable for kids.
