Colac Otway Shire Council is planning for the future of football (soccer) in the region.
The Draft Colac Otway Football (Soccer) Facilities Feasibility Study 2025-2035 is now on exhibition and Council is inviting public comment on the way forward in catering for the sport.
The draft feasibility study provides a strategic plan for how football (soccer) facilities can best be delivered over the next decade, with a focus on the Colac/Elliminyt growth area. It includes:
- A long‑term vision to provide equitable access to quality football facilities.
- Strategic directions based on detailed participation analysis and community engagement.
- Site assessments and audits to determine the most suitable locations for future development.
- A preferred option recommending the establishment of a dedicated Soccer (Football) Hub within the Colac area.
The former Colac High School site has been identified as the most suitable location for this future hub, based on access, site capacity, co‑location opportunities and ability to meet long‑term demand.
Submissions close at 5pm on Sunday 12 April 2026.
