Week two of the holidays will include a Youth Acting Skills Workshop with Melbourne Theatre Company.
Council’s Youth Engagement Team is partnering with COPACC to deliver this amazing opportunity on Wednesday 16 July from 10am to 12 noon.
Young people can explore the ways in which actors can create and embody characters in fun, physical exercises for voice and body.
Bookings are online on COPACC’s website at www.copacc.com.au/WHATS-ON/COPACC-Theatre-Season/ACTING-SKILLS-WORKSHOP-with-Melbourne-Theatre-Company
Youth Engagement Project Officer Chelsea Sharp encouraged young people to sign up for the workshops.
“We’ve got so many talented young people in Colac and district, and we want to help them shine on stage,” Chelsea said.
“OCR FM performs regular Improvaganza nights in Colac, and now the improv stars of the future can learn from them.
“Elevate your acting skills and learn all the tips and tricks of improvisation.
“In addition to that, we’re really excited to be bringing one of Australia’s most prestigious theatre companies to Colac to mentor the next generation of stage stars,” Chelsea said.
“The Melbourne Theatre Company is internationally renowned for its productions, and this workshop on 16 July is an opportunity to gain insight into the work of actors at MTC and how a professional rehearsal room operates.”
Spaces in the workshops are limited, and bookings are essential.
These projects are proudly supported by Colac Otway Shire Council, COPACC and the Victorian Government’s Engage! Program.
