Boat Trailer Car Park Resealing

The redevelopment of the Apollo Bay Harbour Boat Trailer Car Park is nearing completion, with sealing work planned for Wednesday and Thursday, subject to weather conditions.

Colac Otway Shire Council Infrastructure and Leisure Services Frank Castles said it was great to see the upgrade of the Boat Trailer Car Park almost complete.

“We have been able to keep the boat ramp and at least one lane access to the ramp open throughout the reconstruction project but this week’s closure will be necessary while contractors seal the car park,” Mr Castles said.

“The ramp and parking area will close at 3pm tomorrow, Tuesday 17 September and reopen again at 8am on Friday 20 September.

“The sealing will be completed Wednesday and Thursday, weather dependent, and the car park will be fully operational with unrestricted access to the public from Friday morning.

“Following this week’s work, there will be a further two-day closure to complete the reseal in the next two weeks, depending on the weather.

"This important redevelopment has been primarily funded through the State Boating Safety and Facilities Program with a Colac Otway Shire Council contribution, and will greatly improve access and parking for all boat ramp users.

“Stabilising and sealing the parking area will also reduce the environmental impact of an increasing number of vehicles and boat trailers using the Apollo Bay Harbour.

"Council appreciates everyone's patience and apologise for any inconvenience this week as we complete the sealing works.”
