Council is required under the Local Government Act 1989 (s125 3A(7)) to undertake an annual review of the Council Plan. If changes are made to the structure or core content of the Council Plan, a Section 223 public consultation/submission process is required.
Following a review by Council Officers, feedback from Councillors and members of the community, eight proposed changes have been recommended to the core content of the Council Plan.
The Draft Revised 2017-2021 Council Plan is now available for inspection on weekdays at Council's Customer Service Centre at 2-6 Rae Street, Colac between 8.30am and 5pm and the Apollo Bay Customer Service Centre, 69 Nelson Street, Apollo Bay between 8.30am and 1pm.
A copy of the Draft revised Council Plan is also available at the Apollo Bay and Colac libraries.
Any person wishing to make a written submission pursuant to section 223 of the Act on the Draft Revised Council Plan must lodge a submission by 5pm on Friday 31 May 2019. Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Colac Otway Shire, PO Box 283, Colac VIC 3250.
Any person making a written submission is entitled to state in the submission that they wish to appear in person on Wednesday 12 June at 5pm to be heard in support of the submission, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission.
All written submissions lodged with the Council will become public documents available for inspection by the public in accordance with the Act.
Council will meet to formally consider the Council Plan at the Ordinary Council meeting on Wednesday, 26 June 2019 at 4pm at COPACC.
