The Chimera and The Wishing Tree
The Chimera and The Wishing Tree is a pop-up Stiltwalking performance installation and street walk that will be live streamed, spreading a message of hope and transformation during difficult times.
The piece moves down Gellibrand and Murray Street in Colac ending at Memorial Square. The Chimera and the Wishing Tree has been designed in line with Covid safe practices. When the walk ends in Memorial Square, a small group of students from St Marys School will tie red wishing ribbons onto a tree and the word 'Hope' will be written in chalk beneath the fountain. In order to reach a wide audience, the walk will be marked online, including a countdown and will build anticipation towards a live stream video premiere. An edited video will be produced and distributed digitally after the performance.
