Powercor Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycling Event 2019
Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycling Classic is a on-day road bicycle race. The race was first run in 1895. The race is part of the National Road Series. The race starts at Avalon Airport car park. The course will travel through Victoria's Western region through areas such as the Moriac, Deans Marsh, Colac, Timboon, Peterborough and Allansford before reaching the finish at Warrnambool.
The event is open to Elite Men (NRS teams), individuals and A, B, C grade riders and Women.
Traffic Operations Plan provides details and descriptions of various road closures (rolling), detours, speed reductions and the positions of Motor Scouts, Traffic Controllers, Marshalls and Victoria Police.
This event will ride through some roads in the Colac Otway Shire. They will travel from the Cape Otway Road and turn right to Birregurra. A Sprint event #2 will commence from the centre of Birregurra and travel along Warncoort Road. Left onto the Princes Highway, left at Collins Road, Right onto Colac-Forrest Road (C154). Next Sprint #3 from the Citipower/Powercor Office near Forest Street. Right at Aireys Street, Left at Main Street, Right to Irrewillipie Road (C161) and follow out until they cross Turn Off/Tomahawk Road and then onto Timboon.
This should all happen in about 42 minutes.
