Reconciliation Week event

The Colac Otway Shire Council has great pleasure inviting you to participate in a National Reconciliation Week event at COPACC on Thursday 2 June, when we will hear from the co-authors of the acclaimed Our Place book series, Aunty Fay Stewart-Muir and Sue Lawson.

Aunty Fay is an Elder and Traditional Owner of Boon Wurrung country. She’s a former nurse and teacher, is part of Koorie Court, and is a language consultant who presents workshops about reclaiming language.

Sue Lawson is a former Colac resident who writes fiction and non-fiction for children and young adults. Her most recent young adult novel Freedom Ride was shortlisted for a raft of awards including the Children’s Book Council Book of the Year Awards.

Aunty Fay and Sue have been writing together for more than five years and will speak in Colac about their collaboration as part of National Reconciliation Week.

Bookings are essential to ensure we can manage the capacity of our function room. Please book your free tickets via the Eventbrite link provided.
