Colac Otway Shire Council will present the next in a series of business development and networking events called On the Front Foot for Business in Colac on Thursday, June 3.
Business taxation professionals and financial advisers from WHK Colac will share their insights into the new Federal Budget and the current changes to taxation from the Henry Tax Review.
Council’s Business Development Officer Michael Swanson said the event was a great opportunity for businesspeople to find out how the latest changes would affect their business, and how they can take advantage of the changes.
“This seminar is a great opportunity for local businesspeople to get all the facts on the changes that will affect their business,” Mr Swanson said.
Mr Swanson said this seminar would be beneficial to businesses of all sizes, as well as farmers and home-based operators.
WHK Colac’s Business Tax Adviser Mark Whelan said there were major changes to the taxation system and key information in the Federal Government’s budget that all businesses should be aware of.
“Key changes to company tax rates and superannuation guarantee contribution are just some of the changes that businesses will need to be aware of post June 30,” Mr Whelan said.
The On the Front Foot for Business series is supported by major sponsors WHK Colac, and Otway Business Inc, as well as the Victorian Government’s Local Events Program.
The business seminar is free, with lunch provided, and will take place at COPACC from midday to 1:15pm on June 3.
