Colac Otway Shire wishes to advise of the following changed traffic conditions to accommodate the start of Stage 1 in Colac and the subsequent route:

Temporary Road Closures

  • Dennis Street, Colac between Hesse Street and Gellibrand Street will be closed from 6am to 12.30pm to allow for the start area to be set up and packed up.

  • Hesse Street, Colac, between Manifold Street and Murray Street will be closed from 7.30am to 11am to allow for the safe preparation of the race convoy and departure of competitors pre race. Access to Regent Place will also be closed during this time.

Rolling Road Closures

A rolling road closure will be utilised to conduct the tour event on closed roads.  The tour starts in Memorial Square, Colac, at 10.30am and makes its way along the course under a rolling road closure.  If you are traveling along or across the course as a rolling road closure comes through:

  • You will be stopped by the lead police vehicle and asked to park in a safe area on the side of the road.  You will have to wait for the race to pass through.  Once the race has passed the police tail car will inform you that it is safe to move on.  Please be aware there may be some tail riders still on the road.

  • It is estimated that you will have to wait for no longer than 15-20 minutes.

Emergency access is a priority and will always take precedent over the event. If an emergency occurs during the event call 000.

Should you have any difficulties or require further information about these temporary changed traffic conditions please contact Council on 5232 9400.
