Home>Volunteering
Volunteers are vital to a healthy, vibrant community.
Colac Otway Shire is proud to be in partnership with Colac Neighbourhood House in establishing a new service which will assist community groups and organisations needing volunteers and linking them with people looking to volunteer.
This is all done via the Victorian Government's new Volunteer Portal website.

| Volunteering Central, Colac | | Volunteering Central Colac is new to Colac and has been established to connect people who need volunteers with people who want to volunteer through the Victorian Government's new volunteer portal website.
‘We know that we are fortunate in the Colac Otway Shire to have so many committed volunteers that make our community great, but how do we make it easier for people to find opportunities to volunteer or for organisations/service clubs to find volunteers’.
This site has been created to be a one stop shop for advertising for volunteers, finding resources to support volunteers, information for individuals thinking of volunteering and links to funding opportunities to support your volunteers.
It may surprise you to know that many people want to volunteer in our community but are just not sure where to start looking. This site is the answer to that.
All you need to do is log onto www.volunteer.vic.gov.au and type in the postcode of where you would like to volunteer, E.g. 3250 and you will now have a list of current volunteer opportunities in the Colac Otway Shire right at your finger tips. If you don’t have access to a computer or internet or need further support drop into the Colac Neighbourhood House, 23 Miller Street Colac or call on (03) 5232 5210 and make a time to meet with a volunteer who will help you through the process.
If you are an organisation that are wanting to get on board that has not yet done so simply log onto the website and click on My Account in the top right hand corner and select Create New Account. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to find that special volunteer for your organisation.
So what are you waiting for log on and start searching today.
‘Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless’.
