When you register your animal, Council will automatically issue you with a registration tag that must be worn by your animal at all times.

This will make it easier for you and Council should your pet ever go missing. If the animal is wearing a registration tag, the tag number can be matched against the owners' contact details and very soon "Fido" or "Puss" will be safely home again. The tag will also ensure that your pet will not be mistaken for a stray.

Registering your cat or dog will make it easier for your animal to be returned if it wanders away from home.

All dogs and cats aged 3 months and over must be registered with Council from 10 April each year.
