|What is the project? |
The Colac Otway Shire has prepared a draft Heritage Strategy to assist it to meet its heritage obligations as set out in the Planning and Environment Act 1987. This strategy will help address the identification, protection, management and promotion of the Shire’s heritage assets.
The strategy includes a list of heritage related actions, which are particularly relevant to Colac Otway Shire, with the aim of addressing these actions over the four year life of the document. Community feedback gathered through the community survey and drop-in session in September last year has contributed to the development of this action list.
How can I participate?
Council is currently undertaking the next stage of community consultation for the project by seeking feedback on the recently completed draft Colac Otway Heritage Strategy. Feedback received during the six week consultation period is important and will test the draft recommendations with the community before a final strategy is considered by Council.

Hard copies of the draft document are also available for viewing at the Council offices in both Colac and Apollo Bay.
