Join in the hunt for the Golden Gumboot and explore one of the Otways greatest destinations, the Old Beechy Rail Trail.

Get the family together, take a friend or the dog, get out and get active while discovering the beauty of the Old Beechy Rail Trail. Keep your eye out for one of the forty gumboots painted gold that will be hidden along sections of the Old Beechy Rail Trail during the months of September and October. Return your boot with its identification tag to the Colac Otway Shire Office to redeem your instant prize and go into the draw for a major prize.

Start hunting for Golden Gumboots in Barongarook from 17 September - 27 September 2013, be sure to register for the first 2 weeks of the Hunt along the Old Beechy Rail Trail in Barongarook

The following 2 weeks of The Hunt for the Golden Gumboot will take place along the Old Beechy Rail Trail in Gellibrand. Search for Golden Gumboots between 1 October - 11 October 2013 along the Trail in Gellibrand, remember to register again to be eligible to collect your instant prize.

You can download a copy of the Old Beechy Rail Trail map here

To celebrate the success of this great local event, come along to the free sausage sizzle/community BBQ on Sunday 13 October, 12.00pm at the Rex Norman Park, Gellibrand where the name of the winner of the major prize will be drawn!

Don't forget that all registered participants are eligible to enter the major prize draw, but you must be in attendance at the BBQ when your name is drawn to collect the prize!

If you are heading out looking for the 40 boots of Gold, donít forget your camera! This year there is a prize for the best Golden Gumboot Photo. My search for the Golden Gumboot on the Old Beechy Rail Trail, photograph could include yourself, family, friends and pets walking, running or riding a bike on the OBRT. Gumboots, golden or not could be part of the theme. All photos should promote an active/healthy lifestyle, more details available in the guidelines.

Once you have searched for (and hopefully found) a Golden Gumboot, don't forget to complete the Old Beechy Rail Trail user survey and share your experience of the Trail.
