| Colac Otway Shire moved to a three-bin system in September 2010. The three bin system meets the preferred state service standards for kerbside collection, and is also in line with Council’s best value review, during which residents and ratepayers indicated that they would like to move away from the previous two-bin system.
The three bin system has:: • a new 120 litre garbage bin with a red lid for household garbage to be collected weekly • a new 240 litre recycle bin with a yellow lid for commingled recycling to be collected fortnightly on the same cycle as their current collection • reused the green lidded 240 litre bin (current recycle bin) as their organics bin
Each week residents place out two bins for collection, .
Mastec are the current contractors supplying bins to Council. Mastec bins are built to Australian standards and the company employs strict quality control in its manufacturing process. Mastec bins are moulded in the highest quality UV-stabilised HDPE and are built to withstand even the harshest of conditions.
Mastec come with wide experience and high standards not only in the manufacture of bins but also in the rollout of new and recovery of old unwanted bins. | |
