Colac Otway Shire reminds residents that the burning off of offensive and toxic materials is prohibited.

Incinerations may only be used on Fridays and Saturdays between the hours of 10am and sunset.

This law does not apply to land zoned rural under Council's Planning Scheme.

During the fire danger season, incinerators and open fires must not be lit or allowed to remain alight without first obtaining a permit from the Municipal Fire Prevention Officer on:(03) 5232 9400.

You may not use your incinerator on days of total fire ban.

Penalty and conviction can apply for breaches of these regulations.
