There are two main business units that are responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads and infrastructure within the Shire.

The Infrastructure unit is responsible for formulating Council’s Capital Works Program and managing the design of major construction projects. Contract management of construction projects is also the responsibility of Infrastructure.

The maintenance of roads and infrastructure within the road reserve in the Colac Otway Shire is undertaken by Cosworks. This involves maintenance of sealed and unsealed roads, footpaths, kerb and channel, signs, drains, bridges, roadside vegetation, sporting grounds and parks and gardens.
