| Council seeks community feedback for local law review
Colac Otway Shire Council is reviewing three local laws to ensure they remain relevant and meet community expectations.
Council will review Local Law 1, which relates to consumption of liquor in a public place; Local Law 2, a general local law covering temporary dwellings, bee and animal keeping, street furniture and waste management; and Local Law 3, which relates to livestock movement, grazing, fencing requirements and other stock-related issues.
Sustainable Planning and Development General Manager Jack Green said copies of the current local laws were on Council’s website for review.
“This is an opportunity for the community to look at our current local laws and let us know if they have any suggestions for improvement,” he said.
“Following this round of feedback, we will start drafting the updated local laws in the New Year with a view to formally exhibiting the drafts in March or April 2012.”
Council’s current local laws are available at www.colacotway.vic.gov.au under the Council Documents tab.
