| Municipal Fire Management Plan | | The Colac Otway Shire Municipal Fire Management Plan (MFMP) outlines how Council, fire agencies and other relevant authorities and organisations will work together to prepare for, respond to and recover from major wildfire.
The Plan is a sub-plan of the Shire's Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMP) and reflects the State Government's direction to increase intergration on fire management planning between agencies and the community.
Relief & Recovery Plan | | Relief and Recovery is a continuum of activity that starts as soon as the response to an emergency begins. Releif measures are usually provided within the first 24-48 hours and includes things such as provision of food, water, shelter and first aid. Recovery is longer term and in some cases it can take many years. Colac Otway Shire's Municipal Relief and Recovery Plan aims to provide the basis for the provision of effective relief and recovery services.

Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMP) | | The Colac Otway Shire Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMP) is required to be developed by Council pursuant to Section 20(1) of the Emergency Management Act 1986. This plan is one component of a broader framework that enables Colac Otway Shire Council to strengthen its capacity to identify hazards, determine risks, prepare for emergencies and disasters and to strengthen community safety.
