Nominations for the Australia Day 2012 Awards are now open!

| The Australia Day Awards celebrate the achievements and contributions by outstanding members of our community that inspire us through their efforts and make us proud to be Australian.
To nominate for an Australia Day Award - please complete the nomination form.
The Colac Otway Shire Australia Day award ceremony will take place in Apollo Bay on Saturday 26 January 2013.
Nomination guidelines and eligibility criteria:
To be eligible for the awards, nominees must have made outstanding achievements and contributions to a Colac Otway Shire community or provided exceptional service for an organisation and must meet the criteria in the relative nomination category:
Citizen of the Year Award
A person who is 25 years or older on 26 January 2013, resides within the Shire and who has either made a noteworthy contribution during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.
Young Citizen of the Year Award
A person under 25 years on 26 January 2013, who resides or attends an educational institution within the Shire and who has either made a noteworthy contribution during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.
Community Service of the Year Award
A Shire resident who has performed significant and outstanding community service either during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.
Or, a community group or organisation which has performed outstanding community service in the Shire during the current year.
Sporting Service of the Year Award
A Shire resident who has performed significant and outstanding service and commitment either during the current year and/or given outstanding service to a Colac Otway Shire sporting or recreation club/organisation over a number of years.
Or, a sporting or recreation club/organisation which has performed outstanding community service in the Shire during the current year.
