The Beechy Precinct is a whole of community precinct proposed for the site bordering Queen and Hearn Streets in Colac as well as the Central Reserve area. This site includes for Colac's new secondary school which has come about through the merger of Colac College and Colac High School. The site also currently houses the Bluewater Fitness Centre which includes a multi-purpose sports stadium.

The aim of the Beechy Precinct project is:
• To deliver a new precinct for Colac which integrates a range of education, recreation and community facilities providing a focus for an active, life long learning community.

• Encourage the development of facilities which can jointly be used by the new secondary school, other sectors of education – particularly post compulsory education - and the broader community

• Support the continued sustainable growth of the Colac Otway Shire economy by encouraging an innovative and “whole of community” approach to education, learning, health and wellbeing and community development.
