Lake Colac is one of the defining geographic features of the Colac Otway Shire.

It is a symbol of Colac itself and deeply entrenched in the local community’s sense of place.

Colac Otway Shire is working with the Lake Colac Coordinating Committee, Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE), the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CCMA), the Environment Protection Authority (EPA), Barwon Water and the general community, and business to revitilise the Lake as a recreational, social, environmental and economic asset.
