| Colac Otway Shire knows the community plays a vital role in protecting the environment that we live in.
Community activities and events provide the opportunity for people with an interest in the environment to get involved and help to make a difference in beautifying our Shire.
Colac Otway Shire encourages everybody to get involved in environmental events. To become involved in environmental activities please contact our Environment Unit on (03) 5232 9400.
| Earth Hour | | Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Earth Hour is held annually in March.
The Colac Otway Shire has participated in Earth Hour since 2009, holding a free movie session for participants who sign up for Earth Hour. For more information on Earth Hour go to the Earth Hour website or contact Bernie Cotter of the Environment Department on 03 5232 9554.
