Transfer Stations Fees and Charges

Council’s waste transfer stations each have set costs for disposing of general rubbish, hard rubbish, commercial and domestic recycling and green waste. 

Alive and Birregurra transfer stations DO NOT accept waste oil. Visit the Alternative Waste Disposalpage for information on how to dispose of waste not accepted at council transfer facilities.

Tip Tickets

Council has a waste disposal ticket system (tip tickets) for residents without access to kerbside collection.

You can purchase these tickets at a Council customer service centre to use when you dispose of waste at any drop-off facility or waste transfer station within the shire.

Mixed Waste/Landfill:

  • $183.00 for 25 tickets
  • $87.00 for 10 tickets

Recycle/Glass:

  • $40.00 for 30 tickets
  • $20.00 for 15 tickets

Kerbside Disposal Charges

Council charges an annual waste management fee for kerbside waste collection (landfill, recycling, FOGO, and glass). These charges appear on your rates.

All additional and upgrade bin charges are invoiced one a year separate to rates notices.

Annual charges are:

Weekly waste management

Fortnightly waste management
(Gellibrand, Kawarren and Grey River areas only)

  • 1 x 120lt landfill/mixed garbage (red lid)
  • 1 x 240lt FOGO - food organics, green organics (green lid)
  • 1 x 240lt recycling (yellow lid)
  • 1 x 120lt glass recycling (purple lid)
