Community Funding Program

Community Funding Program 2017/18 is now OPEN.   

Applications are to be submitted by Monday 10 April, 2017

Council's Community Funding Program has four categories - Small Equipment and Training, Recreation Facilities, Community Projects and COPACC Assistance. 

This annual funding program provides financial assistance to enable groups to carry out improvements to facilities, programs, activities and events which otherwise might not receive funding from state or federal government sources.

 This program includes four categories:

  • Community Recreation Facilities - Funding is provided on a $ for $ basis up to a maximum Council grant of $5,000. This category supports projects with a total project cost of up to $10,000. Total project costs exceeding $10,000 up to a maximum of $15,000 may be considered on a case by case basis. The maximum Council grant remains at $5,000. Guidelines - Recreation Facilities(PDF, 350KB)
  • Community Projects - Funding is provided on a $ for $ basis up to a maximum Council grant of $5,000. This category supports projects with a total project cost of up to $10,000.   • Community/Recreation Projects – (Small Equipment & Training - Total Project Cost up to $2,000) – Funding is provided on a $ for $ basis up to a maximum Council grant of up to $1,000.   • Colac Otway Performing Arts and Cultural Centre (COPACC) Hire Assistance - Applicants may apply for up to 50% of the cost of room hire at COPACC. The grant does not apply to costs related to: cleaning, box office fees, security, catering, piano tunes and labour charges. Room hires for the Auditorium and Civic Hall include standard lighting. Applicants must obtain a quote from COPACC outlining anticipated dates of hire and resources required. Guidelines - COPACC Hire Assistance(PDF, 270KB)

Information Sessions

Information sessions for both funding programs will be held to discuss the application process, funding criteria and people’s ideas.
