Roads Advisory Committee – Expressions of Interest

Colac Otway Shire Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from members of the community for a new Roads Advisory Committee. The purpose of the committee is to provide feedback from the community and stakeholders to improve the way Council manage our road infrastructure. Specifically Council is seeking applicants to represent the following localities:

  • Up to three community representatives who reside in or around Colac
  • Up to two community representatives who reside in a smaller/rural town within Colac Otway Shire
  • One representative who resides in or around Apollo Bay

The community representatives selected to sit on the committee will be required to attend meetings at least twice per calendar year.

Community representatives will be joined on the committee by two appointed Councillors (one of whom will chair), appointed Council officers, invited representatives from emergency service agencies, Regional Roads Victoria, and industry representatives. Although road safety will be a key theme the intent of this committee is to improve management of the road network as a whole. This is not a replacement for existing Road Safety committees.

Interested applicants can request the terms of reference for the committee by emailing inq@colacotway.vic.gov.au or in person at the Colac Otway Shire Council offices at 2-6 Rae Street, Colac or 69-71 Nelson Street, Apollo Bay. Submissions of expressions of interest close at 5pm Friday 16 November, 2018.
