Colac Otway Shire in partnership with the Victorian government is undertaking improvements in Colac Memorial Square including lighting upgrades and additional CCTV.
Council was successful in receiving funding for a Public Safety Infrastructure Fund for Colac Memorial Square. The upgrade consists of improved lighting to existing light poles that will increase night visibility of the park and pathways. Addition of three CCTV cameras will be installed to areas of Colac Memorial Square that are currently not captured via CCTV footage. Through the improvements Colac Otway Shire aims to deter potential offenders and increase and encourage continued use and enjoyment of Colac Memorial Square.
You are invited to participate in a survey being conducted by Colac Otway Shire on safety in Colac Memorial Square. The purpose of the survey is to collect information of “perceptions of safety” from people 18 years and over on levels of crime and disorder in Colac Memorial Square. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
