The 2017-18 Draft Budget has now been released for public comment. The budget has been prepared in accordance with sections 125-127 and 129 of the Local Government Act 1989.
Copies of the draft documents are available for inspection at the Council’s customer service centre at 2-6 in Rae Street, Colac between 8.30am and 5pm and at the Apollo Bay Customer Service Centre, 69 Nelson Street, between 8.30am and 1pm from Monday, 1 May 2017.
Copies of the draft documents are also available at www.colacotway.vic.gov.au and at the Apollo Bay and Colac libraries.
Any person wishing to make a written submission pursuant to section 223 of the Local Government Act (1989) on the Budget must lodge a submission by 5pm on Friday, 2 June 2017. Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Colac Otway Shire, PO Box 283 Colac 3250.
Any person making a written submission is entitled to state in the submission that they wish to appear in person to be heard in support of the submission, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission. Written submissions will be considered at a Special Committee meeting on Wednesday, 14 June 2017 at 5pm at COPACC. If no written submissions are received the Special Committee meeting will be cancelled.
All written submissions lodged with the Council will become public documents available for inspection by the public in accordance with the Act.
Council will meet to formally consider the Budget at the Council meeting on Wednesday, 28 June 2017 at 6pm at the Senior Citizens Centre, Whelan Street, Apollo Bay.
